About us

Your Partner for the Next Generation of Vessels

Xinneng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is China’s first green and intelligent inland shipyard, leading the nation in the construction of modern river vessels. As a subsidiary of the state-owned Jining Energy Development Group, our shipyard was established in 2022 with a vision to drive sustainable innovation in shipbuilding. We specialize in new-energy ships – vessels powered by clean fuels like LNG (liquefied natural gas), electricity, and hydrogen – recognizing that ships powered by clean energy are the future of inland transport. Situated in Jining City, Shandong Province (the historic hometown of Confucius), our facility spans 1,757 acres and boasts an annual production capacity of up to 400 inland ships (ranging 1,000–5,000 DWT). With cutting-edge manufacturing technology and excellent engineering expertise, Xinneng delivers state-of-the-art river vessels that meet rigorous international standards while contributing to a greener, smarter shipping industry.

Government Subsidy

Backed by the state, built for the future

Xinneng Shipbuilding benefits from robust government backing and support. Being 100% government-owned through our parent group, our project has been highlighted as a “demonstration project” for China’s inland green shipbuilding, enjoying priority status in regional and national development plans. This status effectively functions as a government subsidy in broad terms – providing us not only funding, but policy support, fast-tracked approvals, and access to resources as part of China’s push for green innovation. The Shandong provincial authorities listed Xinneng as a key construction endeavor for industrial modernization, and it forms part of the government’s strategic efforts to decarbonize the inland shipping sector. In practice, clients can trust in the stability and longevity of our shipyard, as well as benefit from any applicable governmental incentives (such as green vessel subsidies or favorable financing).

Background

Rooted in China’s inland shipping boom

Xinneng emerged to serve China’s inland shipping renaissance from Jining on the Grand Canal, a fast-growing inland port hub. With Jining Port projected to exceed 100 million tons of cargo by 2025 and vessel demand rising, the market needed modern ships and a standardized, high-throughput yard. Our purpose-built facility mass-produces inland vessels with advanced, low-emission propulsion. Backed by Jining Energy Group’s full industrial chain—from steel and power to logistics and finance—we integrate R&D, manufacturing, and supply seamlessly under one roof. Our location links river corridors to coastal ports, supporting the national shift from road to water. Aligned with priorities of decarbonization and industrial upgrading, Xinneng delivers competitive, future-ready vessels for global brokers and owners.
